The Youth International Leadership Institute (Yil-Network) Gambia Chapter on Sunday the 3rd September, 2023 engaged in Tree Planting exercise in various communities within the West Coast of The Gambia such as Bainyaka, Mamuda, and Rumba.
This is as a result of our commitment to contribute our quarter in maintaining the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) and Africa Agenda 2063 on mitigating climate change in Africa and beyond.
As an Organization, Climate Change is one of our Thematic
Areas as its effects have rendered Africa a great destruction.
Researchers have disclosed that Africa may need about $120 Billion to Mitigate
Climate Change. If not, in 2025 Africa will experience a more serious hazard on
both high Temperature, Drought, Flooding etc that will cause the destruction of
billions of properties and millions of people may lost their lives due to
climate change.
For that, we take up the initiative now by planting trees
across the country to avoid such occurrence. Congratulations YIL-Network Gambia Chapter.
